I’m a lighting designer working in dance, theater, and music.
I received my undergraduate education first at Hartwick College where I studied with Ken golden, then later at SUNY-Binghamton where I studied lighting design with John Vestal and scenic design with Sharon Perlmutter and John Bielenberg.
I worked for eight years in new york after graduation, touring with such companies as Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane, ISO Dance Theater, Sankai Juku, Twyla Tharp and Merce Cunningham.
I entered the Yale School of Drama in the fall of 1995, studying lighting design with Jennifer Tipton and Steven Strawbridge and set design with Ming Cho Lee and Michael Yeargan.
Since graduating from yale in 1998 I’ve been freelancing as a designer and consultant.
The top photo is me with my late, great cat Raspy.
The middle photo was taken while climbing on an outward bound expedition in colorado in the summer of 2005. If you don’t know anything about outward bound, it’s an incredible organization, and definitely worth investigating.
The photo in the lower left is of me with my cousin Julia. Julia is the daughter of my cousin Al, and she is totally adorable.
